 1.  At 10.47 on Feb 3rd 1931

2.  The offical death toll was 256 161 in Napier, 93 in Hastings

3.  In the botanical gardens and the racecourse in Napier

4.  They were able to rebuild the houses in Art Deco styles making it a tourist attraction.

6.  Children were sent around NZ because there no schools for them to go and no houses for them to live in.  Also it wasn't safe for them with all the aftershocks. 


90 year anniversary of the Napier and Hastings earthquake

Veronica bell rang 2 and half minuite 

one boy got head with brick from the chimney

 The day of the earthquake it was beautiful hot sunny day

the catherdal got rebuilt exactly the same

The HMS Veronica helped people on the day of the earthquake
